Kelley Bosley-Owneris a 1986 graduate of Fairmont State with a BS degree in Accounting and minor in Business Administration. Kelley was a Operations Team Controller for Marriott, based at Charlotte Douglas International Airport for 10 years, overseeing a total of 7 airports and 25 travel plazas. Kelley started her Dance Center business in March of 2000, catering to the youth in the community for six years, and started the dance instruction studio in 2002 now in its 18th season. Kelley's experience in management, accounting and business development as well as background in dance and cheerleading allows her to not only focus on the administrative side of the business, but also teach. Kelley surrounds herself with fun, kid-loving, qualified instructors. Kelley is a Christian who allows her faith to be expressed in her business...she will always try to make dance classes affordable for anyone who is interested. Costumes, music, choreography and attitudes are kept in good taste, keeping the focus on the students having fun while learning. She believes dance is about learning, having fun, sharing, and bringing glory to God who gave you the talent. Kelley is married to her wonderful husband Scott for 29 years and has two terrific kids, Daughter Amanda is 30 years old and teaches 3rd grade at Clear Creek Elementary and son Adam is 27years old and works for Cenduit in Raleigh, NC. The family has lived in the Denver area for over 20 years,
Mr. Darren Hedrick is our Operations Director and teaches clogging at Starz In Step. Darren has 30 years experience clogging, training, competing in the clogging field. He is well versed in both contemporary and traditional clogging...but contemporary is his passion. Darren has contacts with members of "All That" clogging team that performed on America's Got Talent, Bailey Mountain Cloggers, and more.
Mrs. Gina Parry spent her formative years successfully passing yearly examinations through Royal Academy of Dance (RAD); primarily RAD cirriculum, in the United Kingdom. Gina went on to perform professionally on stage in the UK, European continent and her in the USA. Her love grew for the Vaganova classical ballet curriculum and she continues to learn more each year in this specific discipline. Gina obtained her M. Ed in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Idaho and an additional certification in math for 5th-9th grade classes from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mrs Carol is beginning her 9th season teaching at Starz In Step. She serves as our resident gymnastics coach. Carol is a teacher at Bandy's High School and is the JV and Varsity Coach for the Bandy's Cheerleading quads. Carol is married and has three wonderful children, one married, one in college and one in high school. Carol is a soon-to-be grandma. The Parker family lives in the Sherrils Ford area.
Mrs. Olivia Robinson Strupp is in her 5th season teaching for Starz In Step. Olivia graduated from Garnder Webb University with a degree in education. She teaches French at Mooresville High school. Olivia has extensive years of dance, competition and pagent experience. Oliva is an active member at Denver Baptist church, teaches youth and enjoys sharing her love of dance with others. Olivia is married to her wonderful husband Brandon and is mommy to a beautiful little boy!
Brynna Haddox is in her fifth season as an instructor and choreographer at Starz In Step. Brynna began training in dance at age three and has continued to develop her passion in the art ever since. She competed with SIS in all dance styles for eight seasons which gave her several unique opportunities such as performing at a Charlotte Hornets game and in Disney World. She is currently following her college career path that will continue her education in dance training and choreography. Brynna feels so blessed to be a part of the Starz family!
Krystal Setzer is a local to the Denver area. She graduated from East Lincoln High School in 2001 where she was a cheerleader. She has an elite background in cheer and gymnastics that started at age 5 with Boger City Optimist and Twist and Tuck Gymnastics. Krystal has won several medals for power tumbling and floor work as well as division titles in cheerleading. She is married to husband Josh Setzer of Lincolnton where they raise their three children Jakob, Dylan and Piper. Krystal oversees the Mini Competitive Team Lyrical, conducts several private competition routines and teaches recital tumbling & flexibility classes. Outside of the studio she also volunteers at Lincoln Charter School and assists in choreography at Starz In Step
Paige Bradshaw graduated from UNCC with a BA in middle school education degree. She cheered for the forty-niners for three years in college. She teaches middle school math at Mill Creek Middle School. Her and her husband are active members of the Mt. Anderson Baptist Church...they just welcomed their first child John in May 2017. Paige is teamed with Mrs. Carol and coaches our competition teams for all our tumbling and flexibility advancements!
Jessica Hedrick (Darren's wife) will began her teaching career in 2016 season teaching mini clogging, recital and competition hip hop. Jessica also teaches progressions technique for our competition teams. We are so blessed to have Mrs. Jessica on staff
Alexis Keller is now in her 4th season teaching at Starz In Step. She is beginning her 2nd year of college and is pursuing a degree in educationh. Outside of dance, Miss Alexis spends her time studying, helping out at church and likes hanging out with family and friends. She looks to encourage students to make an impact in their lives.
